A special stabilizing resin is used to impregnate the wood to make it stronger. The transparent resin has a similar viscosity to water and is vacuumed for multiple hours into the cellular structure of the exotic softwoods. Normally these softwoods would not be suitable for making handgun grips due to their weakness and porosity. By vacuum stabilizing these woods we are able to increase the density of the cellular structure, they are then cured at high temperature in special dry ovens to create an end result stronger than the toughest of hardwoods.
